Almetal-Marathon Paderborn 2026

The Almetal-Marathon Paderborn guides runners from Büren-Ringelstein through the Alme valley to Ahorn-Sportpark in Paderborn. This October road race features a full marathon, two half-marathon distances, a 4 x 10.5 km relay, and a 4 km mini-marathon. SV Rot-Weiß Alfen 1927 e.V. is the organizer, attracting a modest field of 300 to 500 participants, distinct from large city events. The full marathon follows a point-to-point course. The upper half marathon runs from Büren-Ringelstein to Wewelsburg, and the lower half marathon goes from Wewelsburg to Paderborn. Twelve sports clubs collaborate on the event, contributing to its regional club-race atmosphere over a commercial festival feel. Established in 2017, the marathon has Landrat Christoph Rüther as its patron and provides practical runner amenities including kilometer markers, personalized bibs, online certificates, race timing, and complimentary race photos.
