About this race
The Arheilger Mühlchen-Triathlon is a local triathlon and multisport race in Darmstadt-Arheilgen, Hessen, Germany, with the first starts at 09:00. It has been held annually since 1992 and typically attracts 300 to 500 participants; past finisher counts have been in the mid-300s to 400. The event offers multiple formats: sprint triathlon, supersprint, relay, children's races, aquabike, and swim-and-bike.
The bike course is a distinctive feature: much of it crosses forest paths and gravel trails, requiring a robust bicycle like a mountain bike or gravel bike. Time trial and road racing bikes are prohibited, making the race more suited for off-road conditions than a typical road triathlon. Feedback indicates it is a well-organized, affordable local event, with one participant describing it as "a very nice small triathlon."
