The Barockstadt Fulda Triathlon is a swim-bike-run event in Fulda, Hesse, offering races for club athletes, age-groupers, and first-timers. The main options are short and accessible: the sprint consists of a 500 m swim, 20 km bike ride, and 5 km run. The short-distance race doubles the swim to 1 km and the run to 10 km, while the bike leg remains 20 km. The programme also includes a youth supersprint for 14- and 15-year-olds, featuring a 250 m swim, 10 km bike, and 2.5 km run. Recent editions have been scheduled on a Sunday in May, and the event is organised by SC Wasserfreunde 1923 Fulda.
The racing takes place in and around Fulda, with separate competitions for Jedermann entrants, age-group athletes, Landesliga racers, and younger juniors. Field-size estimates range from about 150 athletes in the Landesliga sprint to around 200 in each of the open sprint, short-distance, and youth supersprint races, indicating a local event with sufficient participation to feel active. The series has reached double-digit editions, and a recent edition also included the Barockstadt Junior Swim and Run. It experienced pandemic cancellations and another later pause, but Wasserfreunde chairman Florian Habersack stated that break was not the end of the triathlon.
