TRIndoor - das Winterbattle is a winter indoor triathlon featuring a pool swim, trainer bike, and track run. The swim takes place in the Roland-Matthes-Schwimmhalle, with the cycling and running events held next door in the Hartwig-Gauder-Leichtathletikhalle. Adult registration typically sells out within a week, attracting athletes seeking a challenging mid-winter test and an opportunity to connect with the triathlon community before the outdoor season begins.
All participants begin with a 400-meter swim, followed by a break before the competition moves to the athletics hall. The bike and run segments utilize a pursuit start format: the quickest swimmer departs first, with subsequent athletes starting based on their time differences. Cycling is conducted on indoor trainers positioned in the center of the hall, directly before spectators, after which athletes proceed immediately to the 200-meter track. In the Laktat-Party format, competitors swim 400 meters, then complete three cycles of 3 km biking and 1 km running, with the initial finisher declared the winner.
