TRIndoor is a winter indoor triathlon. Athletes swim in the Roland-Matthes-Schwimmhalle, then move next door to the Hartwig-Gauder-Leichtathletikhalle for the bike and run. It is a short-course, indoor swim-bike-run race, designed for athletes seeking a midwinter performance check and an opportunity to reconnect with the triathlon community. Adult entries typically sell out within a week, indicating demand exceeding the venue's capacity.
The competition features pursuit starts: the quickest swimmers begin first, with subsequent athletes starting the bike and run based on their swim times; the first finisher wins. Bicycles are set up on indoor trainers in the center of the athletics hall, visible to spectators, followed immediately by the run on the 200m track. The Super-Sprint is the largest category, with over 200 participants completing a 400m swim, 10km bike, and 2.4km run in heats of 60, including a figure-eight run course within the hall. A Laktat-Party format includes repeated 3km bike and 1km run segments after a 400m swim, alongside youth races for Schüler A and a Swim & Run event for children aged six and up.
