Biberacher Genießerlauf

The Biberacher Genießerlauf begins and ends at the market square in Biberach an der Riß, located in the Oberschwaben region of southern Germany. This October running event offers three choices: a 21.1 km half marathon, a 2 x 8 km two-person relay, and a 6 km Nordic Walking event. The half marathon is for participants aged 16 and up, and the relay is open to those aged 12 and up, allowing solo runners, teams, walkers, and local club members to participate at the same venue. The half marathon route starts flat, then ascends as it departs the town and proceeds through the Wolfental valley, Voggenreute, Ingoldingen, and Grodt before looping back to Biberach. The course incorporates asphalt sections as well as solid forest and field paths. Relay teams turn around in Reute to complete their shorter 16 km distance. Lauffreunde Biberach e.V. is the organizing body. The "Genießerlauf" name reflects the event's focus: food and beverages are provided along the course and at the finish. Participants can enjoy sparkling wine post-race, followed by a pasta party, an after-run celebration, and awards during the prize ceremony.
