About this race
The Blutenburglauf follows the Würm river and circles Blutenburg Castle in Munich. Organized by the Rotary Club Munich-Blutenburg, the event uses the SV Untermenzing sports facility on Prof.-Eichmann-Strasse as its base. The program features a 5 km race, plus Bambini, children’s, and youth runs, catering to families and adult runners alike. The date for the next race is still to be announced.
The course winds through a green area in western Munich, tracing the river and the castle grounds rather than a typical city-center route. Over 1,000 participants, both young people and adults, attend, giving it the atmosphere of a community event rather than a small club gathering. The charitable aim is key, with proceeds managed by the Rotary Club’s Blutenburg run, not a commercial race organizer.
