About this race
The Dresdner Familienlauf is a charity run in Dresden’s Alaunpark, starting at 10:00 AM. Held in late August, its core concept is simple: participants run laps to raise donations for malnourished children. Without an entry fee, the event relies on runners, sponsors, and supporters.
The format accommodates diverse groups, including children, adults, company teams, clubs, school classes, and kindergarten groups. Donations can be pledged per 400-metre lap, or runners can secure their own sponsors. The Dresden UNICEF working group is associated with the event. Every participant receives an award, and prizes are raffled, making the day function more as a community fundraiser than a traditional race with a set distance and rankings.
