About this race
The Grafelder Volkslauf begins at the sports facility in Grafeld, a village in Lower Saxony, Germany. This local road-running event offers three main distances: a 2.2 km run for children and students, a 6 km Jedermannlauf for those seeking a shorter race, and a 12 km Sparkassen Cup race for participants focused on the cup standings. The student race commences in the afternoon, with the 6 km and 12 km races starting together later.
The longer routes depart the sports grounds, traverse Grafeld, and feature a significant climb before proceeding towards Knurrefehn. Following a wooded stretch, runners are presented with expansive views across the Emsland region. The SV Grafeld running group organizes the event, which is also linked to the Staas-Junior Cup. Consequently, participants include children, local club runners, cup competitors, and individuals in the all-comers race.
