About this race
The Mey Generalbau Triathlon Tübingen is a summer triathlon in Tübingen, Baden-Württemberg, offering races for elites, age-group athletes, amateurs, and relay teams. Its main event is an Elite/U23 sprint race, part of the DTU 1. Triathlon Bundesliga, attracting top German league competitors alongside local participants. The sprint course includes a 750 m swim, 22 km bike, and 5.4 km run. A supersprint option provides a shorter 300 m swim, 11 km bike, and 3.5 km run for newer or faster-format racers.
The event features a wide program: the amateur sprint draws the largest field, and the short distance is also popular. Both sprint and short-distance relay options allow teams to share the swim-bike-run legs. The short-distance relay covers a 1.5 km swim, 43 km bike, and 9.5 km run, presenting a significant challenge without requiring a single athlete to complete all segments. The event impacts the city, with streets and squares closed to traffic, cyclists needing to walk bikes through certain zones, parking bans along the course for much of the day, and TüBus operating on a special rerouted schedule. The race package includes finisher shirts and dry bags, and early registration is advised as low-price places and popular distances can sell out quickly.
