About this race
On race day, Tübingen closes streets and squares to cars for the Mey Generalbau Triathlon Tübingen, a July triathlon in Baden-Württemberg. The program offers beginners and faster athletes several options: a supersprint of 300 m swimming, 11 km cycling, and 3.5 km running; a sprint of 750 m, 22 km, and 5.4 km; and a short distance of 1.5 km, 43 km, and 9.5 km. Relay options are also available over the sprint and short distances.
The field is large for a city triathlon, with hundreds expected in the sprint and short-distance races, plus an elite sprint tied to the DTU 1. Triathlon Bundesliga. Age-groupers, everyday entrants, relay teams, U23 athletes, and elite racers share the same event framework. The short distance can sell out, and early price tiers for the sprint and short races have gone quickly. The day impacts the whole town: cyclists must push bikes in closed areas, pedestrians can use the streets, parking bans line the run and bike routes, and TüBus runs a special rerouted schedule. Finishers receive event gear, including a shirt and dry bag.
