About this race
NCT-LAUFend gegen Krebs is a charity road race held at the National Center for Tumor Diseases in Heidelberg, beginning at Im Neuenheimer Feld 460. Participants can choose from three race options: a 21 km half marathon, an 11 km run, and a 2.7 km loop where runners can complete as many laps as they desire. This event is the largest charity run in the area, attracting approximately 3,001 to 5,000 participants, with all proceeds supporting cancer research at NCT-Heidelberg.
The 11 km course commences at the NCT alongside the half marathon participants, proceeds through the Neuenheimer fields on mostly paved farm roads towards Ladenburg, turns near the Dossenheimer Schleuse, and returns along the Neckar, sharing the final kilometer with the loop runners. The half marathon follows similar farm roads towards Ladenburg, continues past Schwabenheimer Hof, and circles back along the Neckar to the NCT, featuring four aid stations. Musical acts perform along the route, Sifi Timing provides professional timing services, and the post-race festival includes street food, live music from The Wright Thing, burgers, specialty sausages, and vegetarian choices.
