About this race
Osterburglauf Bischofsheim - Rund um die Osterburg is a 9.6 km race organized by TSV Bischofsheim, part of the Rhön-Grabfeld-Cup. It starts and finishes on the Kreuzbergschule sports field. This race is the hilliest in the RGC series, featuring 350 meters of climbing over its short distance. The route begins with three quarters of a stadium lap before transitioning to field paths, offering runners minimal flat terrain before the initial ascent.
The course alternates surfaces and rhythm: field path, asphalt, meadow, forest road, narrow trail, then returns to the stadium for a final lap. The primary climb extends 2.5 km to the Osterburg, a historic castle ruin, followed by a descent towards Kreuzbergstraße and the second aid station. Later, the route proceeds toward Arnsberglift II, turns down towards Frankenheim, enters the forest near a water basin, and climbs again from Osterburgstraße. The final aid station is located around the 7.9 km mark, approximately halfway up this last climb, before the route circles back near Kreuzbergstraße and finishes downhill and flat on the school sports field.
