About this race
The Trail’NGravel WurmbergChallenger takes athletes up and around the Wurmberg, Lower Saxony's highest mountain, combining gravel bike sections and trail runs into a single off-road event. The course spans approximately 34 kilometers with around 1,100 meters of elevation gain, making it a challenging race rather than a leisurely outing. The start is located at the valley station in Braunlage, with Hexenritt serving as the finish line and primary transition zone.
The event consists of four stages: two gravel bike segments on unpaved paths and two trail running segments on foot. Competitors will switch disciplines multiple times, adding pacing and equipment changes to the overall difficulty. Three entry options are available: Solo racers complete the entire course individually, Duo teams finish together, and Team pairs divide the tasks, with one member cycling and the other running. A single gravel bike is sufficient for both cycling legs at the central transition area. Helmets and closed handlebar ends are mandatory, and mountain bikes or e-bikes are prohibited.
