Wörthsee-Triathlon 2026

The Wörthsee-Triathlon begins with a swim in Lake Wörthsee in Upper Bavaria, followed by a bike and run course around one of Munich’s lake-country communities. This triathlon, held annually since 1985 in late July, offers two primary distances: a sprint of 600 m swimming, 22 km cycling, and 6 km running, and a longer short/Olympic-style distance of 1.5 km swimming, 44 km cycling, and 10 km running. The event caters to both recreational athletes and serious trainers, with both distances available for solo or relay participation. The cycling portion features Alpine views and new climbs, while the run is substantial rather than merely a brief conclusion. It is not an impersonal large-scale event; its extensive history contributes to the start-line atmosphere, and the finish provides a local, club-race style of hospitality.
