About this race
The Winterlaufserie TSV Ippinghausen is a series of four winter running races held at the Weidelsburgstadion sports field in Ippinghausen, near Wolfhagen, Hesse. Organized by TSV Blau-Weiss Ippinghausen, the series has taken place annually since 1993. Participants can select from a 15 km main race, a 4.2 km race, shorter youth races, or children's laps of 940 m and 310 m. This variety caters to club runners, younger athletes, and families, not exclusively long-distance specialists.
The 15 km course covers paved and asphalt forest paths. The 4.2 km and 2 km races also utilize paved forest paths. The 310 m and 940 m children's races are laps on the sports field, keeping the youngest participants near the start and finish. The event adheres to German athletics age categories and is sanctioned by the Hessian Athletics Association. Spikes are prohibited regardless of weather or course conditions, indicating the series is designed for firm winter surfaces rather than muddy, spike-friendly cross-country terrain.
