The Carrera Popular Los Sanochaores is a running race held in Cardenete, within Spain’s Cuenca province, typically taking place on a summer evening in August. The primary race covers just over 9 km, commencing at the town health center and forming part of the Circuito de Carreras Populares Diputación de Cuenca. Approximately 200 runners participate in the adult race, with numbers reportedly increasing annually.
The day begins with races for children across six age groups before the adult race commences in the evening. The main field starts beneath the arches near the health center, proceeding swiftly along Calle de la Iglesia, observed by local residents and sports enthusiasts. The event has a history spanning over forty editions, and its youth races are considered instrumental in developing future local athletes.
