About this race
Sant Silvestre L'Arboç, held in late December, is a charity run event shared by l'Arboç and Banyeres del Penedès in Catalonia. It features a competitive 5 km race, a 5 km solidarity walk, and children's races of 200, 400, and 600 metres. The town councils of both municipalities organize it with assistance from local sports clubs, and the event's slogan is “No child without a toy.”
The route follows a downhill format, beginning at the town hall square in Banyeres del Penedès and concluding at the Municipal Sports Center in l'Arboç, on Plaça Catalunya. This point-to-point course establishes a shared local identity for the race, rather than confining it to a single town. Participants are expected to include runners competing in the 5 km, walkers supporting the charity aspect, families, and children participating in their own races that same afternoon.
