Travesía a nado del Paseo Nuevo 2026

Swimmers begin at Zurriola Beach and conclude at La Concha Beach for the Travesía a nado del Paseo Nuevo, an open-water swim in Donostia-San Sebastián. Scheduled for mid-August, the event spans 2,959 meters, with a 90-minute time limit for participants. It uses chip timing, has a 600-swimmer cap, and the stated distance is not officially certified. The event also offers a children’s race, cloakroom service, post-race food, and awards for top finishers. The course connects two of San Sebastián’s most famous beaches via water, directing swimmers from Zurriola’s surf towards La Concha’s protected bay. Club Deportivo Fortuna Kirol Elkartea and Donostia FESTAK co-organize the swim. Fortuna’s involvement originates from an earlier swim it initiated under different names prior to the civil war. That swim was later revived by Amaikak Bat, paused, and then re-established by Fortuna as the Paseo Nuevo event to promote local sports in Donostia.
