About this race
Triatlón Frómista is a late-August middle-distance triathlon in Frómista, a small town in Palencia, Castile and León. It uses the Half Ironman format: 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of road cycling, and a 21.1 km run. The event is organized by the Frómista town council and Club Triatlón Frómista, with race operations based around the new sports hall beside Pablo Sáenz public school.
The race follows the Canal de Castilla, one of the clearest local markers of the course, so athletes get a town-and-canal setting rather than a big-city triathlon. It draws enough demand to sell out, and it also carries ranking value: it scores for Spain’s middle- and long-distance triathlon rankings and shares points with the world PTO ranking. Entries are open to federated and non-federated athletes, with chip timing required for everyone.
