WOP Challenge Bilbao-Bizkaia

WOP Challenge Bilbao-Bizkaia is a team relay race around Bizkaia in the Basque Country, using Bilbao as the central point. Participants can choose trail running, road running, or trekking. The Full route covers approximately 224-225 km, while a 1Day option is about 50-56 km, running from Getxo to Bilbao. The Full course begins and ends in Bilbao, completing a large loop that involves around 5,000 metres of elevation change. The route guides teams through numerous municipalities, natural landscapes, and notable locations within the province. This dual nature presents a demanding endurance test alongside a journey through Bizkaia. Asfedebi, the Association of Sports Federations of Bizkaia, organizes the event, which also supports a cause: generating aid to combat neurodegenerative diseases. The finish coincides with Estropatada, a significant Bilbao Estuary event featuring a traditional biopatos race, live music, food, and other attractions.
