About this race
Laponie Boreal Winter Trail is a March race series in Lapland, focused on moving through snow in a polar environment rather than a single-day road finish. The primary trail option is 100 km across five timed stages, and a 65 km hiking option offers a more relaxed way to participate in the same journey. The format permits participants to modify the challenge daily based on their condition, which is significant given that the surface, cold, and distance can all affect the route's difficulty.
The course winds through snow-covered woods and over or alongside frozen lakes, with opportunities to view the Northern Lights on clear nights. It is suited for individuals seeking a staged outdoor challenge in winter conditions, distinct from a conventional trail race. Beyond the course, the itinerary embraces the location: attendees may visit the Sami Culture Museum, acquire winter survival techniques, observe a reindeer farm, and engage in ice fishing.
