About this race
Metsä Group Seurakisat is a free, open club race series for children, young people, and families in Huittinen, Finland. The events take place during the warmer months and focus on fundamental athletics: short runs, cross-country races, jumping, and throwing. No sports school membership or competition license is required; registration is done at the venue before each event.
The cross-country races are held at locations like Huittinen Riding Centre and Kännölä, with distances varying by age group, from 300 metres for the youngest children to 1400 metres for older juniors. Other events are at Huittinen Sports Field, featuring sprints and basic field events such as long jump, ball throw, javelin, and lighter children’s versions. All participants join a playful warm-up, receive a Seurakisakortti club race card, and earn a sticker for each visit. The series does not award prizes at individual races; results contribute to sub-competition points, and all participants are recognized together at the Kunniakierros Lap of Honour event.
