Metsä Group Seurakisat is a nationwide series of local athletics meets in Finland for children and young people aged 5 to 15. Over 500 events take place annually across the country, attracting more than 25,000 participants. This represents grassroots sport on a large national scale, rather than a single race weekend. The format emphasizes low-threshold participation. Children can try athletics in a safe, cheerful environment, and the events are designed for the entire family. Parents can assist as officials, fostering a club-level atmosphere and maintaining close ties to local communities. Metsä Group has been the title partner since 2022, collaborating with the Finnish Athletics Federation to support children's athletics and promote early active habits.
