Ultra X Finland guides runners and walkers along glacial trails in the Lahti region of southern Finland, within the Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark. The event takes place in late June, with average race temperatures between 5 and 20°C. Participants can choose from four distances: 110km, 60km, 50km, and 25km. The 110km option can be completed in a single stage or divided over two days.
The terrain for the course was formed by glacial meltwater approximately 12,000 years ago. Consequently, the route crosses old glacial formations, woodland paths, and lake districts instead of urban streets. The technical difficulty is rated 3 out of 5, classifying it as a genuine trail ultra without reaching the most extreme mountain race levels. The 110km, 60km, and 50km races are UTMB Index 50K category events and contribute to Ultra X’s European Slam, connecting Finland with races in Slovenia and Madeira. The 25km race falls into the UTMB 20K category and is not part of the Slam.
