Voimaa Metsästä is a charity trail-running event held in Kauppi, Tampere, with its event center located at the former UKK Institute. The event takes place in late September, offering participants marked routes ranging from 6 to 21 kilometers, plus a 2 km course for children. The Finnish name translates to “strength from the forest,” reflecting the event’s core purpose: running on trails, enjoying nature, and raising funds simultaneously.
Each distance features a unique, continuous route through the terrain, ensuring no sections are repeated within a single course. These routes were updated after previous editions based on participant feedback, contributing to the event’s practical, local character over a rigid structure. In recent years, Voimaa Metsästä has generated approximately €98,000 for child and adolescent psychiatry, with funds directed towards exercise programs at the new Tays children’s and adolescent psychiatric hospital. Participation is open to children, trail runners, corporate teams, sponsors, and individuals registering as supporters.
