About this race
The Bike and Run d'Olmeto is a team event held in Olmeto, requiring two participants to share a single mountain bike. One person runs while the other cycles, and they switch roles during the race. Organized by the club I Cignali under the French Triathlon Federation, the event welcomes participants of mixed abilities, not just elite specialists. It takes place in spring and has a family atmosphere, yet the format allows competitive teams to focus on their race times.
The start and finish lines are located at a parking lot. The rules emphasize visible teamwork, requiring direct bike handovers between partners. Teams cannot leave the bike ahead on the course for the runner. Race officials may disqualify teams that violate this rule. All teams must avoid impeding other participants during transitions. A mandatory role switch must occur under the arch, introducing a fixed tactical point into a race centered on decisions about running, cycling, and managing handovers effectively.
