About this race

Bol d’Or Run places runners on the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, southern France, transforming the motor-racing venue into a lap-counting endurance run. Rather than a set distance, participants select a 3-hour, 6-hour, or 12-hour duration, aiming to complete the most 5 km laps before all formats conclude at noon. The 12-hour race begins shortly after midnight, the 6-hour race commences early Sunday, and the 3-hour race starts later that morning. Adults may participate regardless of holding a French athletics license; the event is open to French and international runners. The course utilizes the Paul Ricard circuit grounds on a mixed loop of asphalt and trail, featuring two footbridges that participants must cross each lap. Runners can compete individually or in relay teams, with categories for pairs, teams of three, six, and eight, and a four-runner option exclusively for the 12-hour format. Relay teams are limited to one runner on the course at any given time. Headlamps are mandatory for night sections, particularly relevant for the midnight-start 12-hour race. Each registration provides a bib, access to aid stations, a welcome pack, and a finisher medal. The event embraces its circuit location through pit-stop and chequered-flag terminology instead of typical road-race language.
