About this race
Couse Nature La Plaine Mer is a trail-running event in La Plaine-sur-Mer, on the Loire-Atlantique coast. This is the third edition of the race, organized by Team 3D from Montoir-de-Bretagne. Runners can select from three distances: the Petit Plainais at 8 km, the Plainais at 13 km, or the Grand Plainais at 26 km. The 26 km race is two laps of the 13 km route, with an 18-and-over entry rule, while the 13 km race is open from age 16. All races start from the sports hall at Espace Sports et Loisirs, with the event village set up by the terrain des cirques.
The routes follow the town’s paths, trails, and beaches, making this a local nature race rather than a road event with a few off-road sections. The 8 km option features a new circuit, offering shorter-distance runners a revised course. Approximately 400 runners are anticipated across the three races, from those tackling the shorter trail to participants completing the 13 km loop twice for the 26 km. The first edition saw competitive racing: Gérald Odiau won the 26 km in 1:47:18 after a sprint finish, and Philippe Marzin won the 13 km in 47:57. Registration is online only through Klikego, and food and drinks will be available on site.
