About this race
The Foulée de Drumettaz-Clarafond takes place on race morning in Drumettaz-Clarafond, Savoie, typically in early October, now in its forty-first edition. The primary option is the Trail de la Parchale, an 18 km run with 660 m elevation gain. For road runners, the Ronde des Fou(r)s offers a 9.7 km course with 230 m of climbing, approximately 90% on asphalt. A 9 km popular walk with 320 m of climbing, mostly on trails, is also available, alongside short cross-country races for children: 3 km for Benjamins and Minimes, 1.5 km for Poussins, and 0.8 km for Petiots. The two youngest races are unranked.
The event embraces village-race traditions. Coffee is served to runners from early morning, and finishers receive a personalized souvenir and refreshments. Adult participants are given a bottle of Savoie wine. The post-race schedule includes awards before lunch, an aperitif for all attendees, and a large tartiflette, limited to 500 servings. A local tradition involves a lottery for 150 loaves of bread baked in communal ovens. Prizes are awarded not only for speed but also to costumed participants, the largest clubs, and clubs that travel the farthest, with equal prize lists for men and women.
