La Rochoise is a late-September trail and nature-running series held in Roche, a village in Isère, France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The program includes short youth races and longer adult routes: 1.5 km for children aged 7-11, 3.5 km for ages 12-15, and main race options around 10 km and 21 km. Nature routes are also available for walkers, with longer options around 14-15 km, ensuring the day caters to more than just runners aiming for a specific time.
The longer races are hilly, though not mountain ultras. The 10 km course features approximately 200 m of elevation gain, while the 21 km course has roughly 350-400 m, depending on the specific listing. Recent editions have introduced new circuits for the 10 km and 21 km routes. The event attracts serious local runners, younger participants, walkers, and Joëlette teams, with courses adapted for assisted all-terrain chairs. It has surpassed forty editions, is part of the R2TNI challenge, has drawn over a thousand participants, and concludes with a complimentary pasta party.
