About this race

L'Infernal Trail des Vosges is a mid-September trail and ultra-trail event held in Saint-Nabord, France. The race offers distances from 15 km to 200 km, including children's and junior courses. The main 200 km race is a semi-autonomous solo challenge covering approximately 205 km with about 10,500 metres of elevation gain and a 61-hour time limit, beginning late Thursday night. Now in its 18th edition and part of the UTMB Index, it attracts runners seeking both mountain challenges and race qualifications. The courses traverse over thirty communes in the Vosges and Haut-Rhin regions, utilizing ridges, high pastures, forest paths, waterfalls, and natural lakes. Participants will encounter technical terrain, significant elevation changes, night running, and unpredictable mountain weather. The event accommodates various participants, with some races permitting pairs or relay teams, and includes team, costume, obstacle, and unconventional formats. The race embraces its name with the local saying, "Infernal, parce que tu le Vosges bien!", suggesting that tackling this demanding Vosges course is a deserved accomplishment.
