About this race
L'Infernal Trail des Vosges 100 km is a mountain trail ultra in the Vosges Massif of eastern France, run as part of a September trail festival with races from 15 km to 200 km. The 100 km distance is one option within a program that also includes 200 km, 130 km, 70 km, 30 km, and 15 km races, bringing together short-course runners, long-distance trail runners, and ultra specialists on the same weekend.
The route crosses more than thirty communes in the Vosges and Haut-Rhin departments, using the massif's rough, varied terrain: ridges, high pastures, waterfalls, natural lakes, deep valleys, villages, and glacial landscapes. Runners also pass sites tied to local heritage and archaeology, adding a dimension beyond just mountain running. The event draws over 7,000 runners and relies on about 650 volunteers, making it one of the region's largest nature-running gatherings. It is in its 18th edition, with registration opening each December 31.
