About this race
The Le Havre Urban Trail 12 km is an urban trail race in Le Havre, on the Normandy coast in Seine-Maritime. It is part of the LHUT race weekend, offering runners several options: 7 km, 12 km, half marathon, marathon, and children’s races for Benjamin, Poussin, and Mini-Poussin age groups. The 12 km race starts in the morning and serves as the shorter competitive option for runners seeking the city-trail format without committing to the half marathon or marathon distances.
The event utilizes Le Havre’s distinctive setting: a UNESCO World Heritage city where modernist concrete architecture is situated near the sea. The longer courses showcase the area's diversity, including sections along Le Havre beach, the hanging gardens, Montgeon castle, and the container cathedral; the 12 km is presented as a concentrated sample of that local heritage. The wider event involves numerous volunteers, such as course marshals and reception teams, and the hillier races demonstrate that this is more than just a flat city run: the half marathon features 500 m of climbing and 2,000 steps, while the marathon includes 1,200 m of elevation gain.
