The Marathon de la Liberté traces the D-Day landing sites and the Battle of Normandy. The marathon begins near Juno and Sword Beach, passing monuments and stelae before finishing in Caen. The half-marathon starts at Pegasus Bridge, the first bridge liberated by Allied soldiers, then merges with the main course. The 10 km runs through Caen, known as the "city of a hundred bell towers." Participants run through historically significant locations, enjoying sea air and Norman beaches. A Norman buffet is offered at the finish.
