About this race
T24 Xtreme Triathlon Bormes-les-Mimosas is a 24-hour triathlon on the French Riviera, based in Bormes-les-Mimosas in the Var. It begins at 1 PM, continuing through the evening and night, with the official night period lasting over twelve hours. Athletes swim, cycle, and run either solo or as part of a relay. The challenge focuses on endurance over a standard triathlon distance, testing how long an individual or team can maintain activity. The environment is coastal and demanding, featuring sea, hills, umbrella pines, ridges, and vineyards in close proximity.
Each lap begins with a 1 km sea swim, typically in water around 23°C, followed by a 21 km bike ride including 231 m of elevation gain. The cycling portion is challenging, notably incorporating two ascents of Pas de la Griotte per lap. The run is 4.25 km and largely flat, alternating between paths, sand, and road. The course utilizes La Favière beach and port, the local Bormes vineyards, and the Mediterranean coastline. Competitors will encounter clear water and coastal views alongside repeated climbs and prolonged effort. The event anticipates hundreds of participants, with solo racers and relay teams sharing the course.
