Trail du Corbier is a summer mountain trail race held in Villarembert Le Corbier, within the Les Sybelles area of Savoie. It is part of a trio of mountain sports events in Le Corbier throughout the year, alongside the Trail Blanc du Corbier and the Aquathlon du Corbier. The race typically offers both short, steep challenges and longer alpine runs, ranging from approximately 5 km with about 1,000 meters of elevation gain to 30 km with around 2,100 meters of ascent. One past edition recorded 575 participants, and the 30 km Trail des Sybelles, as a UTMB Index race, saw 170 finishers.
The broader Pays des Aiguilles d'Arves trail network features about 550 km of marked running paths, with starting points in locations like Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves, Saint-Jean-d'Arves, La Toussuire, Le Corbier, and the Valley of Villards. The routes from Le Corbier ascend from villages and resort areas towards ridges and peaks, offering vistas of the Aiguilles d'Arves. Runners may encounter lakeside trails, high mountain segments, glacier panoramas, and well-known Alpine passes like the Col de la Croix de Fer, ensuring that even the shorter races possess genuine mountain character, distinct from parkland courses.
