About this race

The Trail du Glazig begins in Plourhan, Côtes-d'Armor, on Brittany's north coast. Runners navigate a winter landscape of forest paths, protected tracks, and coastal trails near the Baie de Saint-Brieuc. Established in 2002, the event attracts over 4,000 participants to a varied program. Options range from 5 km and 9 km runs to longer trail distances of approximately 30 km, 54 km, and more. The event also features walking, children's and junior races, and night runs, catering to a broad audience beyond just ultra runners. Expect cool weather and potential rain, fitting the rugged nature of a Breton coastal trail race. The main long course is a demanding trail run with technical sections, frequent pace changes, and sufficient climbs to penalize overly fast starts. Its route is redesigned annually, incorporating protected paths and occasionally sections accessible only on race day. One route option takes runners from Plourhan directly to Plage du Moulin in Etables-sur-Mer. From there, it follows the GR 34 coastal path towards Plage des Rosaires in Plerin, venturing deeper into the Baie de Saint-Brieuc than typical. The event's motto, "Come make zigzags!", suits a course that transitions from woodland to exposed coast, requiring runners to conserve energy and maintain focus for the final section.
