Trail Hermes is a trail-running series centered in Fréjus, located in the Var department of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Its main Fréjus-Estérel race typically takes place in early April. The program caters to varied skill levels, offering long trail races of approximately 32 km and 24 km, middle options around 15 km and 10 km, a short 4 km trail, an 11 km hike, and children's races. The longer routes include significant elevation changes, with the 32 km course featuring about 900 m of elevation gain and the 24 km course around 700 m. The 10 km route provides a shorter introduction to the format for less experienced trail runners.
The Fréjus-Estérel courses are set within the Grand Site Estérel Méditerranée, a mountain and nature area. At least one of the longer routes goes near the summit of Mont Vinaigre. AMSL Fréjus Athlé organizes the event, which attracts experienced trail runners, beginners on the 10 km, hikers, juniors, and children participating in the Pitchoun'trail. The broader Trail Hermes schedule also features events like La Foulée des Zéléphants, Fréjus Urban Trail, and Les Lucioles, suggesting a local running community rather than just a single race weekend.
