About this race
The VinFast IRONMAN World Championship Nice takes the IRONMAN world title race to the French Riviera on a late-summer Sunday. This is not a casual open-entry triathlon; the field is reserved each year for the sport's world elite, with racing in XXL individual and relay formats around the 180 km distance.
The swim is a full 3,800 meters, and local organizers recruit around 60 volunteer kayakers to help line the water and keep athletes safe. Course details also note 180.2 meters of positive elevation gain. This Nice edition carries extra weight as it is the final one in the city before the championship returns to Kona, Hawaii, tying the French stop directly into the longer IRONMAN World Championship story.
