Recurring Marathon races near Agen

Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly

Corrida des Pruneaux
SAT OCT 10
The Corrida des Pruneaux is a two-day relay marathon in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, organized for teams of six instead of solo runners. Maison Roucadil and the Confrérie du pruneau mi-cuit organize it, with support from the city and the Grand Villeneuvois area. This is the ninth edition of the race, and organizers anticipate over a thousand participants. The route has been slightly altered due to construction in the city center. Each team may include three individuals who are not regular runners, making the event more accessible for friends, families, and casual participants. Approximately fifty teams had registered when organizers last spoke, and they projected exceeding eighty teams, which would establish a new record for the race.
Marathon Trail Périgord - Pays de Belvès
SUN OCT 25
The Marathon Trail Périgord - Pays de Belvès is a 42 km trail marathon in the Périgord Noir region of Dordogne, France, running from Domme to Belvès. It takes place in autumn and offers the same full-distance route for solo runners, pairs, and four-person relay teams. The field is limited to approximately 1,500 runners, providing the feel of a substantial regional race without the scale of a major city marathon. The Team Event and CA Belvès organize the race, with a shuttle service provided to assist runners with the point-to-point course. The route connects several of the area’s well-known villages and castle sites: Domme, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Beynac-et-Cazenac, Château des Milandes, and Belvès. The course is divided into four legs: 9 km from Domme to Castelnaud, 10 km to Beynac, 9.5 km to Les Milandes, and a challenging final 15 km into Belvès featuring the day's most significant climb. Total elevation gain is distributed across all four stages, with the final section alone accounting for 440 metres. The marathon is associated with the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France network, allowing villages to field official teams for a distinct trophy.
Ultra Trail des Fontaines - Le Montat
SAT FEB 6
Ultra Trail des Fontaines is a February trail-running and walking event held in Le Montat, within the Lot department of southwest France. The primary race is the UTDF 103 km, beginning early in the morning with 3,900 meters of elevation gain. The event also offers shorter trail options for runners, ranging from 7 km to 44 km. The race program includes discovery trails, long trail, and ultra-trail formats: a 7 km with 200 meters of gain, 14 km races (night and daytime), a 25 km route with 220 meters of gain, the 33 km Belcours Trail, and the 44 km Marathon du Malbec with 1,800 meters of climbing. Walking options are available with 8 km and 12 km entries for hiking or cani-hiking. MONTATHLON ORGANISATIONS manages the event.
Semi-Marathon de Bazas-Langon
MON MAR 1
The Semi-Marathon de Bazas-Langon is a point-to-point road race held in Gironde, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, southwest France, in early March, connecting Bazas and Langon. The primary event is a half marathon (21.1 km), with a 12 km option also available, allowing participants to run the Bazas-to-Langon course on race day. The course begins in Bazas and concludes in Langon, crossing the Bazas countryside towards the vineyards near Langon. It features varied terrain, not a flat, straight city course, with approximately 176 meters of elevation gain, 256 meters of descent, and a peak elevation around 128 meters. Forests and vineyard roads shape the route. This event, now in its 36th year, is integrated into the local athletics community via Stade Langonnais Athletisme.

About Marathon races in Agen

Agen Base Miles

Agen hosts 9 Marathon races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals run Agen from the river Garonne and Canal de Garonne into the city centre, where Tout Agen court à Noël turns the streets into a 5km and 10km night hit-out. ASPTT Agen Athlétisme carries that race feel, with Agen by night as the hook. SUA Athletisme welcomes all levels at Stade Rabal, with Tuesday and Friday training from 6:30 PM to 8 PM, Thursday strength work, and Sunday morning group runs. Trail de garonne en fête - Agen goes off-road, deep into nature, away from asphalt. Relais de nuit philippides - Agen brings the harder mood, with a 710-meter climb.

Locals ride the Canal de Garonne when they want clean Z2 and easy base miles. The Canal des Deux Mers cycle path runs along the old towpath from Marmande to Agen, and the track is perfectly maintained. The Scandibérique EV3 passes through Lot-et-Garonne between Feugarolles and Saint-Pé-Saint-Simon, while the Baïse cycle route follows La Baïse from Lavardac to Moncrabeau. Team Lot-et-Garonne and SU Agen are the club names you hear around the road scene. Randonnée Solidaire des Jardins du Coeur works as the local anchor ride. The coteau de l'Ermitage is where the climbing starts to bite.

March to September gives Agen its best training block, because sunshine hours are highest then. Summer stays mild and warm, so locals keep the canal for shaded spins and steady runs near the water's edge. The city centre still works for intervals, and the river Garonne keeps the easy days simple. Winter stays mild, but the air turns cool to cold, so runners lean on club sessions at Stade Rabal and riders keep the flat canal miles honest. Trail days get softer underfoot, and base miles matter more than crit legs.
