Recurring 10K races near Saint-Estève
Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly
Les 10 km de Bompas
Les 10 km de Bompas is a late-October road race in Bompas, in the Pyrénées-Orientales area of southern France. The main event is a timed 10 km for adults, starting at the Parc des Sports, and the program also includes children’s races, with four distances in all from 600 m up to 10 km.
It is a busy local race rather than a quiet club outing: more than 1,000 runners, about 200 children, and around 150 volunteers are involved. The course runs through Bompas streets with fanfares and supporters on the route, and people come for different reasons: chasing a time, running with friends, having fun, or even dressing up.
Trail Nocturne de l'Ecoparc Catalan
The Trail Nocturne de l'Ecoparc Catalan is a night trail race held in early December in Occitanie, Pyrénées-Orientales. Participants run through the Ecoparc Catalan area, near Villeneuve-la-Rivière, Pézilla-la-Rivière, Calce, and Baixas. The courses blend town running with open-country trail running. The distinctive feature is the illuminated setting: a large wind turbine park and the surrounding Mediterranean communes are specially lit for the race, making the event designed for running after dark, not simply adding headlamps to a standard trail route.
Five night-trail distances are offered: 7 km, 11 km, 22 km, 33 km, and 44 km. The 22 km, 33 km, and 44 km races are available as solo runs or as relays for teams of two, three, or four. The 7 km and 11 km options can also be completed as hikes. Over 2,000 people participated in the third edition, with the field intended to accommodate walkers, newer runners, relay teams, and longer-distance trail runners. Local residents from the four communes line the route to support participants. The runner pack includes an official jersey, a finisher medal, a 66 Degrés Sud bag, aid at the finish line, safety support on the course, and trophies for the winners.
Gruissan Poli Trail
Gruissan Poli Trail is a weekend trail-running event held in Gruissan, located in the Aude department of Occitanie in southern France. Participants enter the Massif de la Clape, with races ranging from short distances to a 50 km trail. The available options include 8 km, 10 km, 12 km, 18 km, 25 km, and 50 km races, alongside a 10 km hike and Nordic walking. It typically takes place in the winter, with the next edition scheduled for early December.
The event began in 2005 as the Gruissan Phoebus Trail, established by local trail-running enthusiasts. It expanded from two races on a single day to six races over an entire weekend. Approximately 1,500 runners now participate in the weekend's events, with close to 2,000 finishers recorded in a recent edition. The courses traverse the local landscape of forests, vineyards, lakes, and ponds. The program also includes events for children and juniors, a relay race, and a women-only race. Specific named courses are La Ronde des Chevriers, a 12 km trail featuring 250 m of elevation gain, and Le Trailhounet, an 18 km route with 550 m of elevation gain.
Souvenir jean-claude moutet - urban trail - Toulouges
The Urban Souvenir Jean-Claude Moutet is a 10 km urban trail race held in Toulouges, located in France's Pyrénées-Orientales department. This race begins in the morning at 10:00 AM and is part of the independent Challenge CDR66, not a large commercial series.
The course combines town running with sections through natural areas, offering runners more variety than a standard road 10K. The event also features a children's race, refreshments available along the route, and kinesiology support at the race site. Gérard De Biasi is the contact person, and race details are shared via Running66 and the Team Running 66 Facebook page.
Cross des fontaines - Saint-Féliu-d'Amont
Cross des fontaines is held at the Salle Polyvalente in St Féliu-d’Amont, located in France’s Pyrénées-Orientales department. The event focuses on Nordic walking, featuring a timed 10 km walk beginning at 9:00, followed by an untimed 5 km walk later in the morning.
The 10 km walk has an entry fee of 10 €, and the 5 km leisure walk costs 6 €. Bibs will be distributed on the day before the event and again on the event morning. Results will be sent to participants approximately 30 minutes after the final finisher crosses the line, and individual rankings are also available on the Cross des fontaines Facebook page. Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall.
Courir pour Kevin - Baho
Courir pour Kévin is a 10 km road race held in Baho, France. The course is flat, connecting Baho and Villeneuve-de-la-Rivière. Participants begin at 9:30 AM from Salle Evora. The registration fee is 5 EUR.
The Courir pour Kévin association organizes this event, which marked its 10th edition according to available records. One race reported 152 finishers. Sven Durand was the winner with a time of 31:08. The Courir association supported children with disabilities in completing the race using joelettes.
Cabestanyenca
La Cabestanyenca begins at Espace Nelson Mandela in Cabestany, a town in the Pyrénées-Orientales. The main 10 km race starts at 10 AM. This is a small annual running event offering a timed and ranked 10 km race, alongside a 5 km option that can be completed as a run or a timed walk without rankings.
The longer route follows roads, paths, and vineyard sections just outside town. The shorter distance is designed to be more accessible for walkers and casual runners. Children aged 7 and up have their own races, starting later in the morning. Entry fees are modest: 8 € for the 10 km, 5 € for the 5 km, and 2 € for children. The event also collects funds for Secours Populaire, linking the local race day to a charitable cause.
Ronde de Reynès-en-Vallespir
Ronde de Reynès-en-Vallespir is a running and walking event in Reynès, Vallespir, southern France. It provides two race distances, 14.2 km and 5.5 km, suitable for runners seeking a longer hill run or a shorter outing. The event also features a hiking option, attracting more walkers than many local races.
The route crosses the hills surrounding Reynès, with spring details that help visualize the course: cherry trees beginning to bloom, views toward Canigó, mimosa scent in the air, and violets along the banks. Participants come from across France, Belgium, and both northern and southern Catalonia, including individuals from the Manresa area.
Course de l'artichaut - Villelongue-de-la-Salanque
The Course de l'Artichaut, also known as La Cursa de la Carxofa, is a local road race held in Villelongue-de-la-Salanque, southern France. The primary events are 10 km and 5 km races, both beginning at 9:30 AM. Additionally, there is a 3 km race for Benjamin-category runners, children's races of 400 m and 800 m, and a family walk following the same circuit.
The 10 km course is flat and 95% on road, featuring a 450-meter straight at the start and finish. Aid stations are located at kilometers 3 and 8. The 5 km race is entirely on road, shares the same long straight for its start and finish, and includes an aid station at kilometer 3. Sports Loisirs Villelonguet organizes the event, with approximately 90 volunteers managing safety, registration, and refreshments. The artichoke theme connects to local farming; prizes are sourced from local agriculture, and the race serves to showcase this produce to runners, walkers, children, and families.
Argelès Nature Trail
Argelès Nature Trail is a spring trail-running weekend held in Argelès-sur-Mer, utilizing the Valmy routes above the Mediterranean side of the Pyrénées-Orientales. The program offers multiple trail distances, a Nordic walk, a nature hike, and four children’s races. The longest option is 23 km with 1,650 m of elevation gain, available also as a duo entry. Shorter distances include 15 km with 800 m of gain, 10 km with 250 m, and 7 km with 300 m, providing varied levels of challenge over the same weekend.
The courses are set in the Valmy area, resulting in hillier terrain than the sea-level location of Argelès-sur-Mer might imply. Both licensed and non-licensed runners are eligible to enter, with men’s and women’s categories for certain distances, and children’s races are free. The association Courses de la Massane organizes the event, ensuring safety with control posts and a medical team. Registration requires standard French race documentation: an FFA competition license, Pass’Running, a medical certificate, or PPS.
