Derby Junior Triathlon 2026

The Derby Junior Triathlon begins at 08:30 at Allestree Woodlands School on Blenhiem Drive in Derby, utilizing the school grounds instead of public roads. This junior multisport event offers triathlon and duathlon entry options, catering to children from first-time racers to athletes seeking East Midlands qualification. Entries are divided into Open and Female categories under BTF rules, with children grouped by their age on December 31, not just their age on race day. The course includes a 20m indoor pool, followed by bike and run sections on the school sports fields. It is entirely traffic-free, primarily on grass, requiring shoes and bike tyres suitable for soft ground rather than tarmac. Sign-up options include Novice Duathlon, TriStar Start for the East Midlands League, and TS1-Youth for other East Midlands League age groups. Spectators can easily view the event around the school site; every competitor receives a medal, and the top three in each category are awarded trophies.
