Below Solymári Castle, the race begins on the edge of the Buda hills, offering a genuine trail-running experience instead of a simple road run. This second running of SzalamandRUN features routes close to nature, with enough variation to suit beginners, casual runners, families, older participants, and those seeking a more challenging effort.
A combination of forest dirt roads and asphalt sections is expected, with longer distances requiring the typical trail-race self-sufficiency. The course is marked with painted arrows, ribbons, and signs. The race hub, start, and finish are located below the castle. Adults and children compete in separate categories, all finishers receive a medal, and the eco-friendly organization aligns well with a race that largely takes place near the woods.
