Tour de Mátra 2026

FRI, July 3, 2026 · Giant Gyártó Hungary Kft. , Hungary

About this race

The Tour de Mátra concludes atop Kékestető, Hungary's highest peak at 1,014 meters, beginning in Gyöngyös within the Mátra mountains. This three-day July road cycling event is for amateur participants, featuring gran fondo, medio fondo, mini fondo, and an individual time trial. The primary distance choices are 161 km, 94 km, and 16 km. Combined classifications are offered for those who link the short event with either the 94 km or 161 km route. As a part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, the race serves as a qualifier for the World Championships. The recent addition, a 19 km time trial, starts and finishes in Gyöngyös's center. The course is an out-and-back route of approximately 18.8 km. Its initial segment descends gradually from 180 meters to around 120 meters before the return leg. The Tour de Mátra originated as a local gran fondo and has since expanded to an international scale, receiving coverage on Eurosport Hungary and securing a UCI World Series slot, bringing the circuit to Hungary for the first time. The event also incorporates guided running and hiking tours, offers complimentary entry for U13, U15, and U17 categories, and provides prizes for all women's and men's divisions.
