Il Fondo nel Golfo is an open-water distance swim held in Salò, on Lake Garda, Italy, starting at Via Canottieri. It takes place in June, a month when northern Italy typically experiences mild weather, with average temperatures ranging from 13°C to 23°C. This marks the event's 13th year and includes three swim distances: 1.5 km, 3 km, and 4.5 km. The swim is organized as a formal mass-participation event, not just a casual swim. Participants receive chip timing, a race pack, bag drop service, changing facilities, and showers. The 1.5 km distance is the shortest option, while the longer swims provide a greater challenge for experienced open-water swimmers within the gulf at Salò.
