About this race
The Alta Valtellina Bike Marathon is a high-mountain mountain bike race held near Bormio in the Italian Alps, scheduled for July. Participants can select from three distances: the 100 km Marathon, the 76 km Endurance, or the 44 km Classic. This structure accommodates both seasoned marathon cyclists and those seeking a shorter, yet challenging, ride.
The courses traverse Alta Valtellina’s alpine terrain, featuring long ascents, swift descents, and expansive mountain vistas. Approximately 400 volunteers assist with the race, and the event hub includes a Bike Village for pre- and post-ride gatherings. A minigranfondo for children, race bags for participants, prize money, merchandise, and a charitable component supporting the Follow Your Passion series, which also covers running and triathlon events, are also part of the offering.
