Corri al Massimo per IRENE is an annual charity run in the Rome area, organized by the IRENE association with technical support from ASD Podistica Ostia. It is dedicated to Massimo Crocco, a sportsman who died from a brain tumor, and it pairs a competitive race with a shorter non-competitive run for people who want to join without racing hard.
The non-competitive option is 5 km, while the competitive distance is listed as either 7 km or 10 km depending on the edition. One course stays fully inside Villa Pamphili, with a meeting point at the Bel Respiro Senior Center; another starts near the Kursaal establishment on Via Isabella di Castiglia. Runners get chip timing, a race pack, and a finish refreshment. The event raises money for projects helping brain tumor patients and their families. It also links with Walk around the World, an International Brain Tumor Alliance initiative supporting people affected by brain tumors.
