Course Reschensee

About this race
Course Reschensee is a 15.1 km race in South Tyrol, Italy, run in Resia near the Austrian and Swiss borders. It circles the Reschensee reservoir, a high alpine lake at almost 1,500 metres elevation, and starts near the famous church tower of Graun im Vinschgau rising out of the water. The event draws over 3,000 participants and uses five start waves, spaced five minutes apart, allowing runners to spread out on the lakeside route.
The course is one full lap of the lake on a cycle path, with about twelve kilometres on asphalt and three on gravel. It is mostly runnable, with flat stretches mixed with rolling sections through woods and alpine meadows, offering views toward the Ortles and Gran Zebrù peaks. The bell tower of Curon, left standing after the village was flooded in 1950, provides the race its strongest landmark. Handbikers open the event before children, beginners, families, and the main field follow around the water.
