About this race
The Egadi Running Cruise is a three-day trail running series held in September on Sicily’s Egadi Islands, featuring stages on Favignana, Levanzo, and Marettimo. The format is unique as the inter-island travel is integral to the concept: runners complete a 2.5K, a 9K, and a 17K race instead of a single-distance event. It is designated as a UTMB Index race, and the longest stage, Trail Di Marettimo, is a genuine mountain run with approximately 1,120 meters of elevation gain over 17.1 kilometers.
The routes traverse rocky island paths, coastal sections, wooded areas, and cliffside trails, emphasizing rugged Mediterranean terrain over flat road speed. Levanzo and Marettimo also offer walktrail options, broadening accessibility for those seeking the island-route experience without tackling the most demanding stage.
